MARTIN GATES

RESPONSIBILITIES

Mr. Gates works with real estate investors and their professional advisors to implement tax-deferred exchanges and reinvestment strategies. He is a regular speaker at real estate, tax, and investment seminars and continuing education workshops for finance professionals. Mr. Gates participates on the Rep Advisory Board of OMNI Brokerage, Inc.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Gates has more than 25 years of experience in real estate, financial and professional services. His career includes senior management positions in private banking, trust, private equity, and real estate investment management. He has managed a corporate private equity portfolio and had responsibility for over five thousand individual investors with real estate, trust, and investment securities portfolios. He has been active in the 1031 TIC market since 2003.

PREVIOUS POSITIONS

Prior to his current position, Mr. Gates was a registered representative with Sigma Financial Corporation specializing in 1031 exchanges and direct investments in TIC properties. Previous to this, Mr. Gates held management positions at Wells Fargo & Co., San Francisco, California, including Senior Vice President in the Strategic Investments Group (SIG) and Vice President, Division Manager of Wells Trust Services. In addition to his tenure at Wells Fargo & Co., Mr. Gates has worked in the Treasury and Executive Financial Planning Departments of Bank of America and as a business consultant at Charles Schwab & Co.

EDUCATION AND AFFILIATIONS

Mr. Gates is an active California Real Estate Licensee, and holds a Series 7 & 63 securities registration, and is a registered representative of OMNI Brokerage, Inc. (Member FINRA and SIPC). He holds a BA and MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

PERSONAL

Mr. Gates resides in Northern California with his wife Liz, and two children, Fiona and Rowan. He enjoys swimming and cycling, and is a choral musician, performing with the San Francisco Choral Society and the California Revels of Oakland, California.
